RK.Wash.
Many many thanks friend Robert for the music which you so kindly sent me. I should have acknowledged it before. But have been absent from home.
My music has been sadly neglected of late. I do not pretend to practice any. occasionally sit down, and drum over "Aileen Aroon", and Caslin Castle, by the way, have you ever heard those two little pieces? They are quite pretty. and I think you would like them. I am going to turn over a new leaf

now, and practice two hours every day. So by the next time you ask me to play, I shall be able to go through one piece with out failing. We are now without a girl. So you can imagine how I have to fly around, and make myself useful. I wish you were here. to assist me in my house hold duties. I think we could get along quite peaceably together, provided you did not criticise my work quite as closely as you did the last time you was here, Grandpa received your letter last evening. he has bee quite sick with a cold, the last week. is feeling better now however,
