Dear Sir

I have received your printed circulars in relation to the proposed Zoological survey and as requested have written to some of my (few) acquaintances In Illinois on the subject. Would it not be well to include at the same time a botanical survey? My proposition to our legislature, which will soon be introduced by Senator Davis embraces both – and I hope to secure for you a place in Wisconsin if you fail in Illinois! –

Please let me know what are the prospects of success at Springfield. –

As I have sent your circular to Madison I wish you would send another for my own use, if you have one left & to spare. –
