I got back to Egypt last Tuesday - Had a good time while I was up though the weather was miserable - Alice was in Chicago all the time so I saw a good deal of her though I missed her at home - poor Dalce I hope her dreams will all come true. - As to Cora you have no idea how the child has grown. - It seemed very good to be home again still I am so anxious to get on & to make money that I did not feel easy even then - Wrote a good deal for P. F. while I was up & have got a month a head so you

so I have taken to your plan & try to make the odd moments count -
Before I forget it let me inform you that your dog Peter Scratch is really a wonderfuly fellow and handsome as a picture I think I shall "frieze"[?] to him certain sure -
Did very little calling in town - spent one evening at Dr Andrews - at a little party. - Attended one of the grand Matinees (hums)[?] and a lecture also (hum.). - Found Dele B[?] - pretty well only they make her work too hard she has not a selfish hair in her dear old head & the rest of them have plenty so she does heaps of

disagreeable things for them all. They are all very kind to me but wont let the Tall Girl go near the Grove which is mean and un=reasonable -
Down here there is every indication of a very easy spring which we are badly prepared to me - Expect to lose a good deal any how so shall not fret my "gissard" gizzard - You will be glad to learn that there is a prospect of my not always having to trot round in a half bushel - John P. is sick of having the nursery here so he has made a proposition to sell me an interest in his lands at Sandoval. I think I shall accept it &

we shall move next spring - Sandoval is the meanest place on earth but will do to make money in. here I am convinced it will always be an uphill business.
It is the most miserably disagreeable day you ever did see so I have concluded as we and to in the older time to have a "warm up" -
