Dear Mother -

I am feeling very happy this evening, He has done no work to day And have got entirly over my home-sickness, - that is if I have had any?. - This evening Bob and my seflf took tea at Prof' Bairds, and had expected to go to Church with Miss Lucy Baird, - But they were afraid that it wold [word crossed out] rain, and so she did not go.- Much to my joy, - I should like to tell you what I think of the Bairds, that is the Ladies, the Prof' I like very much But if I should tell you what I think of Mrs & Miss B,. Has Alice been down stairs yet?

I expect Father is much better by this time, I had a short note from Flint this morning saying that he was better, I suppose you are all so busy that you cant write often, - Did you get the note that I wrote from Pitsburg?

I expect we shall go to New York before we go home, I hope we will, Mr Chittenden has promised us a free pass to N.Y. and back by steamer possibly we will go in June

Is the weather plesant at home now? Most of the time we have very nice weather it is raining alittle to night.

I am most too tird lazy to write much, so good night to all

Cub, Bruno,

The Cub is magnificently lazy. He will write more readily ere long I hope. - He dont seem to have so much imagination and enthusiasm as Poddy - the better for him perhaps.
