Yours of the 21st Inst - was recd - day before yesterday - We should have repled yesterday - but I was very [bourry?] - working those scions your sent - which arived in due time - in good order & satisfactory[underlined] - and I have some 10 Thousand grafts [set?] from them - And as I am a novice in setting grafts - and keeping them in Boxes in the cellar I wish you would [tux?] your [illegible] an hour - and give me your manner of doing up the thing --

How packed &[underlined] in what? how moist the sand, or mould? Whether danger of becoming too dry? how warm may be the celler? &c -

At your leisure you will send your Bill of Scions - As to furnishing you Snow Balls it is no object to us - only as a business[underlined] transaction[underlined] by what you might be accomodated and we make a little in the opperation - At your [illegible] we think we cannot - We have them to buy - and the best offer we have is $15. pr hundred for 500. or 1.000 - At your price we should not suppose we were offering an equivalent for your interest in our [illegible] - And neither should we have offered you as we did - unless we hoped - we could buy them some better then $15and go 40 miles for them - & [illegible] forward &c -

and now asks us 15$ fr 100 - We think we shall be at his yard in the spring - (I Bill of Burlington) and if we can get a few so it will answer - will let you have if you want - We know of them to be kind at any other yard - And if your call for them is in preportion to your place like ours - a 1000 would be but a lightstock for you ---

Now Gents - just say what you will take for you Interst here - and we pay you as just as we can make it convenient to turn round - and seven pr cent [illegible] paid -
