(Journal Office) Louisville K. April 20th 1855 Dr J. A. Kennicott Dear Sir Seeing an article from the "Farmer Journal" by Mr J B Garber on the Hoo Sung [underline Hoo Sung], the seeds of which having been received from you, I have been induced to write to the Seed dealers in Philadelphia & other places in [illegible] [illegible] for a few seeds, but have thus bar been unable to procure any. Will you please do me the favor to send me a few seeds [insert by mail, underline mail] from which I can procure a better start. A word by way of description as to its character, whether it is an annual or not & will be very gratifying to me. Very truly your friend H. P. Byran
