Terrace Hill - Janesville Feby - 27/56

Messrs Kennicott -

Gent - We have this Hour recd yours of 14th Inst - What in the world is the matter with U- S- Post Boys now adays? - - near half of our correspondence fail entirely - - We as truly sympathise. With you in the effects of the frost in your yards, as you with us - We have no doubt but we suffer in as large per-cent- on what we have as you do - but you know we have but little - and therefore [loose?] but little - We fear that all our Pears - of all Ages & sises are lost - yet we intend to keep trying .. as fast as we get the means - -

In cutting a few Apple Scions this work in our own yard - I thought they looked, a little scorched[underlined] - with the frost - being a little of a yellow couler - how is that? - - In cutting for us of courn you will have an eye to that - if you have cut them cut before you seen this - From the last one we wrote you - (the recpt. not acknowledge) you will see that I am waiting the arival of the Scions -

We will be glad to recd your Catalogue -

With true wishes of prosperity - and lively sympathy and respect - we are your friends

Geo L & L H Kellogg -
