Messrs J A & C Kennicott I am enclosing my lots here 350 ft square with an osage orange Hedge. I intend setting out fruit trees & shrubbery this spring or fall and want a Hedge that will effectually protect them when they begin to bear. In front of my House I would like the Hedge to be Evergreen - What [insert Evergreen] can I substitute for the osage orange that will make that portion of the Hedge best & what will it cost per rod - Please send your Catalogue of Fruit Trees & Shrubbery and answer the above questions by Return Mail Address J[illegible] H Laurence 3 stamps Mt Auburn Christian Co Ill
