Messrs J A & C Kennicott Dear Sirs The Strawberry Plants arrived in fine condition & were set out immediately.. Our wet spring is very favorable for these. As to your Bill, of course we want to pay what you ought[underline] to charge though you did[underline] intimate that you would put them at three dollars per thousand, but under the circumstances we will not hesitate to pay what you ought[underline] to have. As to that dollar, if Charlie is to be depended upon, I suppose you are indebted to us that amount, & I never like to dis[strike through] question a person's truth & veracity in such a case Enclosed please find $3,75 which with that[underline] dollar[underline] will make the $4,75 Respectfully yours L.
