Rock Island Nov 1 1857 Doctor, you probably think by this time that I have forgotten all about sending you that note for those things but when those things came I just heeled them in and started next morning into the country to set out an orchard for a man and when I reruned I was aff licted with rheumatism in my right shoulder. It pained me so at night that that I did not fel like writing . The things came in food order well packed and good count. Do you sell many trees in the fall. What is you opinion about fall setting in this country Do you know who authorized the publi cation of that nurserymen;s circular. Why dont they put their names to any then live wh to it I have heard too many things that some nurserymen were going to do any when the time came they didnt do it . I like it if all will live up to it

I have thought for some time that some such thing would be necessary but it would be better carried our then on paper I would like to see the names Doctor I am sorry that the N.W. Trust is dead I think it wouldhave been the means of doing more good than the state ?? can any there I like the idea of going out of the state occasionally.
