North Bloomington MLean Co Ill Nov 16th 1854 Friend Kennicott Dear Sir. Your favor of the 13th inst is just received and in reply I would briefly say that I will do what I can to furnish you with something for your report . but I -- cannot do it til my return home from Sangamon Co. I leave on monday to - make a visit to Friend Brown Prst. Agl. Society and as soon as I return I will endeavor to give you a full [underline] report of "the National Fair". - and I will probably furnish some other - matter for the report. I suppose you will receive nothing from Col Gridley or Judge McClun as they are not in the habit of writing essays &c. I would recommend that you write to Dr S R Roe of Bloomington who will probably furnish something that will be of interest. I will speak to him upon the subject and you can write to him. Enclosed I send you an address he delivered at our County fair. - I think that I - furnished to friends Murray an essay - last year on the importance of a proper system of Agricultural Education and the subject of the establishment of an Industrial University - I did not Keep a copy of it consequently cannot say exactly what I did write probably he can furnish the essay and if worthy it can be published

We had a good time at the great Fair Col Wilder desired his respects to you and expressed great regret that you was not in attendance please let me hear from you at your earliest convenience and if you cannot obtain my former essay and think that a short essay on the subject of Industrial education would be in place and desire it I will endeavor to furnish it from my notes of the former one.
