Text of Petition: To the honorable, the general Assembly of the State of Tennessee. The Subscribers being Citizens of the town of Gallatin and its immediate vicinity petition your honorable body to appoint another Justice of the Peace in said town, as the one now living there (Squire Cryer) intends quitting the place before the next sitting of the general Assembly, which will have but one in the District in which the town lies; And we beg leave to recommend Mr. William Trigg as a suitable person to fil that appointment.
