Dear Mrs. Baker:

Thank you for your letter of June 8 concerning Miss Viola Wood who has made application to work at your institution. It was I who recommended Miss Wood to Mr. Hill when my office was contacted as I felt that Miss Wood fitted the description of the candidate that you were seeking.

Miss woood is a knowledgable person in the arts and the Humanities, having taught in both areas here at Fisk University and in the former at Northern Illinois State University. She is a competent artist whose medium is ceramics. But most importantly, she is a person who is well liked and gets along fine with students. She is a hard worker and demands the same of her students. She did a fine job while teaching here at Fisk and left us with plans of practicing more full [erased](?) her own skills an an artist. She is well disciplined and is a person who is responsible and of good character. I believe that she will make a fine addition to your faculty and strongly endorse her candidacy.

Dear Mr. Driskell,

How are you doing? How is the Rest of the Art dept. doing? I hope your summer is turning out well. Mine has been nice. I ended the spring by getting married. It's nice however it really doesn't feel any different.

I'm in Calif. now at my parents house. While I'm waiting on the baby to arrive, I'm going to take care of that incomplete. I have a paper due on a Senufo door. If I'm not able to attain adequet information on it out
