Mary $25 Salt On her way to Nashville stayed there all night James Webster with her. Mrs. Dr. W. Brown is going with them to Nashville in Marys Carrage. Paid $35.00 to Mary for Salt &c &c she brought me before I want to Columbia after dinner & got the news the Fedrels genl Dodges Men & the Negro Regt. in Town had taken off Maryanns Negroes &c Thomas went home this morning

Wed 16 Marys Negroes) Mary left for Nashville I went to Town late The 4 of Maryann boys that had been taken off I followed & got them back & sent them home
Wm J Porter was in Town with me & came back at night. I met Genl Negley in Town (heavy rain)

The river is rising verry high Nothing out of the way
Green got home
Friday 18 Mare $150. W J. went home, I took the brown Rockaway Mare to Town & sold her for $150. To Wm Mc Donald of Ohio
Decr 1863) Sat 19. W. J. Porter left for home this morning turned verry cold & Wind from the north
Mary Nashville I went to Town found Maryann on her rode home from Nashville
She got her Government claim cashed lost $200. on it had a long talk with Genl Negley (Verry cold)
Sun 20. I stayed at home all day Shaper & Below eat dinner, Will Jo
