You can get a first rate article of oil for plantation use & machinery at Slark, Day, Stauffer & Co New Orleans for 60 cents, They keep a constant supply.

Armfield wishes your sanction to paying our fees in the Pease controversy. We charged one thousand dollars W&Miles rec'd 2500$. Please give us your authority.

Be it known that we the undersigned stockholders in the Commercial Bank of Manchester, Do hereby contribute and appoint Jefferson I Hughes our true and lawful proxy to vote for us and in our name at the next election for Directors of said Bank the number of votes to which we are entitled as stockholders aforesaid. And we hereby agree to be bound by the vote thus cast for [eleven?] directors in said bank to serve for one year from the 2nd Monday of April next as fully as if given by ourselves in our own proper persons. Given under our hands & seals this ___ day of March AD 1845. Witness
