Dr Col It occurred to me this morning that you would like to hear from me and so when I went home to Dinner I called to see how your family were that I might advise you. Mrs Ballard was not at home but I met her on the street & she says the children & she are very well. She was looking extremely well herself and talks of paying you a visit. She is in great distress about the arrgt of her brother of which you will have heard before this reaches you. I felt very sorry for her & hope the young man may be better out and sent off. Could it be done? We are working along

as well as we can with the bog product. Our business has been very large and I hope it will pay pretty well. The market is now quite active and prices are about 1$ pr barrell higher than three weeks ago. Dont you want some Pork? Let me know how much and where to send it. It will not be lower than at present I think, at all events not for some time. Let me hear from you about this. We are all very well except Jno Williams who is getting weaker every day and cant last long. Yours truly Benj I. Adams

Dr Col Please make the affidavit which is written on the last leaf but one to the enclosed Record, before some Judge or Justice of the Peace in Mississippi You send it by mail, post paid, to H F Simrall Esqr Woodville Mississippi, with a request to have it pled with the petition in the Probate Court of Wilkinson Co. You can, if convenient, send the cost of the copy of the Record to Mr. H. Brown, Clk of the United States Court at Jackson. It is $3.70, as you will see on the back of it.

I enclose for Mr Davis a letter of which he receipted to you when you made your final settlement. Please pay it or autorise me to do it. I shall be in Jackson the 3d Monday in this month. Yrs trly S.S. Boyd
