Both your Letters came safe to hand
with Col. M^cCawleys, deed inclosed, I also
RecievedRec^d the plate drawn by M^r Daniel, much
to my satisfaction, which I laid before
the Board, and will give you such infor-
mation as comes within my knowledge
Respecting the Proceedings of the Board,—

They have Voted £3000 to be laid
out for the Building, and have appointed
A. Mebane, W.R. Davie, A. Moore, Judge
Williams,John Haywood Esq. and my
self Commiſsioners, who are to Meet at
Hillsbor^r. three days before the Superior
Court Rises (Next) to fix on the spot for
the university and to Lay of a Village
and to do evry thing Neceſsary to forward
the work by the spring of the year; In the
mean time Gen^l. Mebane is impowered
to agree with some person to make all the
