This Indentrue between John MCauley of the State and County a= forsaid of the one part, and the Trustees of the University of North Carolina of the other part, Witnesseth, That for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds to the said John McCauley in hand paid by the said Trustees before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby fully acknowledged, be the said John MCauley hath granted, bargain'd & sold, alien'd, convey'd & confirm'd to the said Trustees and their Successors forever, part of a lot of Land in the Village adjoining the University, number'd Eleven in the plan of the said Town, Beginning at the corner of said Lot number eleven (No. 11) where the great Avenue intersect Franklin Street running then South westwardly along the line of said Lot on Franklin Street sixty feet from thence a line at right angles with said street across said Lot, to the back line thereof, thence along the back line to the great Avenue sixty feet thence along the Avenue to the beginning: The same being part of Lot No. 11 in the plan of said Village, and was first purchased at the sale of the lots in said Village by George Johnston, & by the said George Johnston conveyed to the said John MCauley, which will fully appear by referring to the several conveynces...
