Status: Needs Review

[Belleview?] March 15th 1853

Dear Sir,
I received your letter and accept
"the commission" of County Escheator with
the hope of aiding you in behalf of
our University. The office is by no
means popular or profitable and held
by an uncertain tenure; as you are
liable to be ousted at pleasure.

I will employ some of my time in
making investigation and should
I report "no goods to be found". I
hope this will be no cause of re-
-moval. I hope you will keep me
properly advised with "definite in-
-struction" as to my duty.
Very respectfully
your Obt. Sert.
Thomas J. Morisey
