Warrenton Feb 18, 1845 My dearest Susan It has been a long time since I wrote to you but not so long as it has been sinceI heard from you what can be the cause of you not writing. before this, when I wrote to you I expected to remain in Franklin but soon after I wrote to you John White sent after me Priscilla was sick and would hear of nothing else she has recovered and has another Jon a very fine boy indeed. Just four weeks since Catherine Doris gave birth to a son was very ill at the time but grew better for ten as tweleve days but alas very unexpectly was taken with a jointing fit and died in six ours. Alas Suan you can cutls in again the shack and distays after I can write it I was with her all the time, poor childI hope she is at rest but her family ore as much distaysed as it is passihle her persons to he. and I expect you have before this heard of the eath of Mary Pope. She had a baby and only lived eight days after her baby was born dead. Warrenton eems to be an ill fated place for persons in child birth two deaths so enexpected of have produced a very great gloom over our village every body looks a sad and feel

so too far I witnessed the death of poor dear Kate all of the family are greatly distressed but poor Mary appears to be inconcolable and Mr White is as any with grief and he bein the rest of the inhabbitance are all well I see Ann two days since she and all are well Mrs Alster has been sick but has recovered. Eliza Plum son has gone down the cantary to see May Latton his health is very bad in deed I fear she is not long for this world. If I have nothing in use is to write only to say I am alive and well at this time and line in hopes of seeing you this spring do pray write as soon as you receive this and let me know what time you will start so I may be looking for you all dear little shep home I long to see his bright face and Mr Cobs were to be forgotten do as anes dont if you please give out coming the disappointment will be too great and life is as a slant at best I think it is our duty to see this that we have when our use can and I hope you all will be spared and so shall all of as to meet this spring. do try write me this about you selve and all the talks in St Louis lou thy came in and what has became of those I used to be with I shall always feel a deep in Trent in there melrose and let me know how you are like Bishop Hawks and if you after go to church me none an excellent preacher. Cory Plumme is down the county with his aunt has been all the winter. Susan

prettier than lory but not so handsome as I thought she would be little Beth is a dearlittle thing and quite pretty the rest of themare so so Ann and a fine
