Same -- Hard days work in my multifarious reportorial capacity but did it successfully and well -- Found that the Syndicate won $2.50 instead of $5.00 -- so I collected it and paid each member his one third -- 83 1/3 cents -- or 80 cts each, retaining the 10 cts extra in making change, for my Secretary salary -- Second dividend of the Syndicate for the present year or century -- Evening by special invitation I attended banquet at the Arlington given by citizens of Carson to the members of the Legislature -- Commenced shortly after 9 and closed at 12 -- 2 big tables occupying the whole big dining room -- Fresh shell oyster, turkey, salad, white wine and claret -- coffee, beef tea, fruit, cake & all that sort of thing -- Nevada State Band did fine music, Plenty of good talkers, etc -- Bed 1 -- Simeon Wenban, owner of the famous Wenban silver mine, Cortez district in Eureka county, Nev, and a well known heavy capitalist died yesterday in San Francisco.
