International Hall -- 2 bonfires in the street, one near Hotel, other opposite the Court House -- Canon firing in front of Hotel and band playing -- No procession -- At 7:30 band on stage played, and Col Ellis introduced by Hon AT Creswell, chairman of country central committee spoke for over 2 hours on political topics of the day -- Very good talker -- I took copious notes -- Bed at 1 --

Tuesday Oct 28

The same -- Odd jobs at home -- Evening down town -- Bed at 12 --

Stove polishing Enterprise 68 Joe E Eckley GW Wilcox

Wednesday Oct 29

The same -- PM at cabin -- cleaned up & polished my big old ["Token"???] stove -- Looks most as good as new -- Also shined up my little office stove -- Hard after-noons work -- Evening down town -- Bed at 12 --

Thursday Oct 30

The same -- About town -- Evening & night wrote Enterprise 68 -- Mailed at 4 -- Bed at 5 -- Short letter from Joe E Eckley Enterprise foreman this morning -- Gibson got a letter from GW Wilcox, lawyer, Washington, stating in effect, that 10 per cent on about 9 months back salary re-adjustment is coming to him & he will get it about April next --
