Judge George A. Bartlett District Judge Washoe County .. Author: "Is Marriage Necessary". Reno, Nevada.
Mr Dear Sir:
I am now reading a book by you from the publication office of the Pelican press. I can't find the words to express my appreciation over it. At the first beginning of reading it, I was thrown in a dilemma, but now I know exactly what course to take, and what to do, and what the results will be. The reason your book is so important to me because I have been married since 1942, lived only two years with my wife and we have been separated the rest. There are four kids; three I know is mine. I put in for a divorce three years ago and is still waiting for it. My charge is Adultery and desertion.
I am telling and writing all my friends concerning your wonderful book. Every man and woman that reads owe it to theirselves to read it. Under the present modern conditions that exist between man and wife your suggestions is true, but from the Bible's view its wrong. For an example the Bible says, "Thou shall not commit adultery", yet, with sound thinking and reasoning you justifies it in your chapter, "Is Adultery a sin?" & I likes it.
Here's a list of things I like you covered: a.. Sexual relationships before marriage (The Bible says its a Sin to do so) b.. Young men marrying older women c.. The effect of environment on marriage. d.. Sex plays a very important part in marriage and is not to be shrugged off. e.. ETC

Here's the decision I have reached, after reading your book: a.. Hurry up and get my divorce. b.. Learn something about the next woman I associate myself with. c.. More careful consideration of my kids. d.. More respect for women e.. and play it safe when dealing with women.
May I ask you this: a.. To get a divorce, do there just have to be a Court hearing? b.. Will children born out of separation, particular when a divorce has been filed for either person effect it? c.. Can I get a divorce from Reno through mail?
Thanking you for the treatise on marriage; and will write you telling you the effect it has on those whom I have recommened to read it.
I am Respectfully,
Frank White, Sr.
