are some very pleasant people on
board. I share an inside state
room (originally intended for two
people) with a lady & her little boy
& a pretty English girl from Detroit.
The girl, Miss Whitmore, is travelling
with her father, and another family
from the same city. All of them
have spent the summer in England
with relatives. They are most coridal
& good hearted and have made me feel
most at home with them. They
went across in the same boat
& the stewards and officers are especially
good to them. The table steward brings
us two desserts, and sends me
oranges in the morning. It is very
nice to eat an orange while one
is taking a morning spin around
the deck. Try it. The meals are
fine, - lots of things and all good.
They also serve beef tea at ten &
tea at four, but three meals a
day are all I can stand.
