On September 22,
Lucy and I are going to a [Anglican] convent school.
We both are not
looking forward to it much, because we
don’t know the language well yet and
therefore we can’t communicate
with the other English girls.
That doesn’t
matter, however, we will learn it.
Now it is ten minutes to five
and Mama and Lily
Wright are writing a letter to the lady
who loaned us her little country house.
We were there for almost three weeks.

a living room, a kitchen,
and a bathroom. The rooms
are the same height as Papa and the
cleaning woman always has to
walk stooped over to keep from bumping the ceiling.

nice, it was terribly
