Today almost everybody
in the school is up and we
are doing very well. Today we were
also downstairs for breakfast.
Now there are only four of us
in our room and we
have to rest. Actually we
really should lie quietly and
do nothing and try to go to sleep.
Naturally, no one ever sleeps.

But I think it doesn’t matter
very much to us.
Here I have learned a
game which is called “jacks.”
There are little pieces of iron,
ten or twelve, or you
can also take as many as you
want. I really like playing
and am also very good
at it. You also have a
ball for it. It is similar
to our so-called “Shollen” [Schollen Rollen, a board game].
It is very entertaining.
Today we are already back
in our regular bedrooms.
Ours is the biggest
in the whole school. It is called
St. Barbara, and there are nine of us
