BRIGHAM YOUNG,
Deceased.

PETITION FOR APPOINTMENT OF A
SUCCESSOR-IN-TRUST

No. 553

The petition of Gaylen S. Young, a resident of Salt Lake City,
Salt Lake County, Utah, respectfully represents to the court:

1. That said Brigham Young died in the month of August, 1877, leaving
a last will and testament which was duly admitted to probate, and the
probate proceedings thereof were in all respects duly and regularly had.

2. That Brigham Young, Jr., a son of said deceased, George Q.
Cannon
and Albert Carrington, who were named in the said will as such, were
duly appointed executors and trustees thereof and qualified and performed the
duties of their trust.

3. That by said will it was and is provided that to prevent any
failure of executors and trustees, should a surviving executor or trustee,
original or substitute, die leaving an executor or trustee of his estate, such
executor or trustee shall be the executor or trustee of the estate of said
Brigham Young to complete the trust of the said will of the said Brigham
Young
with all the authority and powers in said wil contained.

4. That the estate of said deceased was duly probated and the
executors were discharged as executors but were continued as such trustees
under the will to execute the trust provisions thereof and never have been
discharged as trustees. That said Brigham Young, Jr., George Q. Cannon and
Albert Carrington died, and thereafter in 1941, Brigham S. Young was appointed
successor-in-trust to said executors. That thereafter and in 1944, the said
Brigham S. Young died, thereby leaving a vacancy in said trusteeship. That
in order to perform the provisions of said trust, it is necessary that some
suitable person be appointed successor-in-trust to the said Brigham S. Young,
deceased.

5. That your petitioner, Gaylen S. Young, is a grandson of the
