Rockford 11/15-15

His Excellency.
The Governor of the state of Utah:

Sir:—

Again I am writing you in behalf
of Joseph Hillstrom, who is going to
be shot next Friday. That is if you
act contrary to the wish of the people
of the United States. I have read the
records of the trial, and it is surprising
that a man can be convicted on such
poor circumstantial evidence as was presented
against him. Every person that have
read about the trial is convinced that
Joseph Hillstrom is innocent of such
a crime, of which he is accused. But
this man has been active in the labor
movement, and that is, in the eyes of
the ruling class, sufficient reason to
send him to death. But I still hope
that you, Mr. Governor if you love justice
will grant Joe Hill a new trial.
