Monday Night Feb. 26/17.

My dear Stan. - How [is?] the old boy anyway? I have been think quite a bit of you people lately and have been wondering how all the people at 209 Dunn avenue are. I have not heard from you lately I gess you are a pretty busy boy. I have been reading all the Canadian papers lately and see that the [?] is going to do wonderful things. I think Toronto did wonderful in the patriotic fund.

Have been reading all about the doings in parliament and hope

that they will not begin to fight amongst each other at this stage of the game. If they all work hard [the - crossed out] and pull together the war aught to be over this summer. I see Borden is over here now and this Empire Conference should mean a good deal for Canada.

I have just been reading the evening Chronicle and the Germans are retiring from the strongest front on the whole line. Namely Bapaume If you look at the maps you will see the places where I was in attacks. Regina Trench. [S - crossed out] Le Sars. I will tell you perhaps some day all about it.

I might say that Reg is in one of the greatest necessities of the war. The sixty pound trench-mortar. I wrote home a little about it and perhaps you saw the letter. He is at Ypres now I believe and they are getting ready for a little big push. I sent him a parcel the other day of good things to eat.

How is Louise. I do hope that she is well and tell her that I often think of her and my two little nephews. I am as proud as anything of my little nephews and am waiting till I can see them. You aught to be proud of them too Stan. Let them go up to see mother for little visits as mother seems to like it and

I received a letter from Mr Cusin and thank him and tell him I will write him soon.

I hope Mrs Spada is keeping well - this weather and give her my love.

Well Stances I will have to go to bed now. I will close and write me soon.
