W. W. Crapo Esqr

New Bedford

Dear Sir,

I have your favor of
16 Inst. & note that your committee
do not favor the arrangement as
proposed when Mr. Krebs & myself
saw you in New Bedford, & that their
opposition to it leads you to consider
the negotiations at an end.

I have shown this letter to Mr.
Krebs & he begs that I say to you
that his firm would very much like
to control these New Bedford claims
& if arrangements can be made with
other parties with whom they in
treatyhave been operating they will
be inclined to name a much lower
Commission, the claimant paying actual
disburments.

Mr. Krebs will write you Monday.

I am Truly Yours
