The Anglo-American Claims Commission
have fully organized under the Treaty
of Washington, by selecting Count Corti,
the Italian Minister at Washington, as President
of the same, and have adjourned to
the middle of November. Information has
been received that the English holders of
the Confederate cotton bonds intend to submit
their claims before this commission for
adjudication, claiming that, under the
broad terms of the treaty, they are included.

No cases will be heard by the United
States and British Claims Commission before
December. The rules adopted do not
exclude any claims having the color of justice.
Claims by British subjects residing
in the South during the war will not exceed
£5,000,000.
