My dear Mrs. A
Many [clarks?] for you letter of the 6th which I received Saturday.

I have seen [Gen.?] Bulloch this morning. He will [lend?] you some letters from Florida. If Mr. A is well enough to dictate & sign a report & she [Receiver?]—he can turn [ever?] she whole [business?] of [lumber?] with the notes to Leopold or [Stickey?] & he alone with it.
Why does he wish me to explain his private [propers?] Without a specific object I prefer to let them alone. If any [prosteilor?] [proper?] is needed, I will search for it, or if he wishes me to make myself familiar with his

Affairs I will do it; but until I hear further from you I will let that matter rest.

the First mortgage is legal & good but the second is worthless—[no?] Leopold [rays?].
Gen. Balloch will write you today. Don't bother Mr. A with too many things at once, Let him know time [is?] each to think it out clearly.
You are doing right to keep him there. Don't let him come back for a long time.
God bless you,
Yours Truly
E. [Meilltesy?]
