Dr. Sir:
The Directors yesterday by order, caused salaries of Pres t.. Treasr. & Sec [I?]. to ceased and also requested one to write to you, as follows, "That the [heavier?] of the [sarm?] is over, and no personal attention of the President is necessary to the work: [mat?] nevertheless a [nominal?] President to sign papers &[c?]. [on?] behalf of the company is required, and of his (your) health is such that he (you) cannot farther attend to it, that it is the [seuse?] of the Board, that it is both expedient as desirable that he (you) should resign".
Please let me hear from you, in response to this before the 8th of Dec. to which [there?] the Broad adjourned.
