POLICY TOPIC: Orientation and In-Serivce Training RESPONSIBLE PERSON: Manager and Manager Designer

Policy Statement: In a bid to promote and encourage a commitment to life-long learning, the general Board of Directors at the facilities will do all within their power to provide basic financial support as well as education and training for its staff.

The opportunities in question may include one or more of the following; professional development, trainings and seminars, in-service trainings done with the aim of broadening the knowledge and skills of staffs in taking care of patients at the assisted living facility. This is also very good for their efficienty.

In roder to meet up with this demand, the facility will make budgeted funds that is equivalent to 1% of each permanent employees gross earnings for the sake of professional development.

Procedures: Who is eligible? At the assisted living facility, all permanent staffs who have been at the facility for over a year will have access to this program and shall be allocated certain professional development funds.

Also some permanent employees who are currently on a temporary leave may also access the accumulated development funds till the date of their leave.

The assisted living facility will make sure to see to it that it's staffs participation in these personal development activities is well facilitated. They can also do this by sharing transparently the cost of operation to the staff.

The financial support from the facility is to be be prioritized according to certain activities which are required:
