Dr. Van Horne:
I would like to extend this thought of appreciation on the behalf
of Professor Vel Phillips. It has been a real honor to haver her as
a part of my educational process. I realize that sometimes it is
not easy to deal with the presssures that rise among Black women but,
if it wasn't for Vel sometimes I feel as though I would have slept
the day away and possibly given up. Thank God for the combination
of Black women, intelligence and discipline, because Mrs. Phillips
is definitely on the case. Your department has a gem. I hope you
let it shine.
