To the Honorable Legislature of the State
of Wisconsin.

Me the undersigned believeing that the Law
of this State ought to conform to the wants
and convenience of the People as near as
possible and also believeing that the keeping
of the Land Records at the County seats
only is a great and unnecessary Tax on
the good and industrious Citizens of this
State and that it would add greatly
to the convenience of the inhabitants to
give each Town the control of their own
Records: We would therefore Petition your
honorable body to pass an act establishing
the Town Clerks office in each Town as the
place where all Records appertaining to the Lands
of said Town shall be recorded and [Rept.?]
