Mr. [Poppleton?] or Senator [Maniterson?} speak in the evening of the Opera Home. I feel that Miss Anthony is very uncertain & I know my capacity to speak is doubtful. I cannot stand to speak even five minutes & my voice is very husky. It has always been a pitiful sight to me when old people lay superfluous on the stage
