Sir:
I have the honor to make the following Report of Operations for the month of December, 1872.
Cape Foulweather Lt. Station, Ogn. Put in new landing and 2 flights of stairs. Completed outer brick wall. Continued landing from Newport & grading. Completed inside white-wash. Commenced taking down scaffolding.
Probable Operations for January. Commence putting up Lantern. Continue grading and cleaning up grounds. Haul materials from Newport.
Cape Hancock Lt Station, W.T. Sent men & materials to L.H. Station. Commenced hauling materials to L.H. site. Laid brick foundation. Partly enclosed oil house.
Probable Operations for January. Complete Oil-House, except painting & plumbing -

Cape Dungenness Lt. Station, W.T. Completed repairs, according to report of Overseer. But I have just learned that the work has not been completed.

SIR:
I have the honor to make the following Report of Operations for the month of January 1873. Cape Foulweather Lt. Station, Ogn. Received & hauled from Newport the lantern except missing boxes. Completed lantern floor (except floor lights) and iron work in vestibule & watch room. Continued grading & cleaning of grounds.
Probable Operations in February. Completed brick work under lantern floor. Cement wash watch room. Complete taking down of scaffolding. Build fence around tower.
Cape Hancock Lt Station, W.T. Completed Oil House except painting & plumbing.
Probable Operations in February. Paint as weather will permit.

Sir: In referring to your letter of 29" Jany relative to location, in Notice to Mariners, of Cape Fowlweather Lt. Ho. I would state that an examination of the Notice shows that Yaquina Lt Ho. and not "Yaquina Point" is given as 3 3/8 miles southward of Cape Fowlweather (or Yaquina Point)

I herewith submit report of operations for the month of February:
Cape Foulweather Lt Station, Ogn. Put 2 coats of paint on Watch-room, & lantern deck. Completed brickwork. Removed all scaffolding & e So Store-House. Cape Hancock Lt Station, W. L. Commenced Painting.
Probable Work for March. Finish painting. Strengthen Chimney leaks. Put eave troughs & pipes on Oil-House.
Inspected work at Cape Foulweather , Ediz hook, New Dungeness, & Admiralty-Head. Attended meeting of Board of Examiners for Light Keepers at Astoria.
Sent Lampist & Machinist to Cape Flattery Lt Station to put fog Signal into repair.
