5: four hours fresh Northwest breeze light fog. Sea rough. General duties. 1st asst went to Newport & returned to station 3 P.M.

6: Fresh Northwest breeze with light fog for the first part of twenty four hours. Last part of twenty four hours fresh Northwest breeze with thick fog. Sea smooth. General duties. I.L. Smith 2nd asst went to Newport & returned 1 P.M.

7: Light variable N.W. to S.E. wind with light fog first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light S.E. wind with light fog to dry weather. Sea smooth. General duties. 1st asst Edward Rice shading up garden.

8: Light S.E. wind with thick fog first part of twenty four hours. Last part of 24 hours light S.E. wind with thick fog. Sea smooth. General duties. 1st asst Edward Rice went to Newport & returned 1 P.M.

9: Light S.E. wind with light fog first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light S.E. to N.W. wind with light fog to cloudy but dry weather. Sea smooth. General duties of the day. Filled the oil tanks today.
