February 15: Moderate breeze East to S. East these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours fair weather - Last part of 24 hours light rain showers - Sea moderately smooth - General duties for the day - Keeper and 1st asst went fishing - Barometer down to 29.88

16: Gale to moderate breeze S. To N. West first part of 24 hours with rain showers - Last part of 24 hours light N. West wind fair and warm weather - Sea quite smooth - General duties for the day - Keeper and 2nd asst went to Newport after supplies - 1st asst went fishing. The barometer 30.22 today.

17: Moderate to fresh breeze South these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours rain - Last part of 24 hours damp - Sea quite smooth - General duties for the day - The barometer 30.20 today. Steamer Alcatraz arrived and crossed in over Yaquina bar at 4 P.M.

18: Light South wind light rain showers first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours fair and warm weather with light variable winds - Sea very rough - Gneral duties for the day - 1st asst went Newport after the mail - The barometer 30.20 today.

19: Light N. West wind first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light variable winds fair and warmer during 24 hours - Sea rough - General duties for the day - Keeper went to Newport. 1st asst went fishing - Steamer Homer arrived from Sanfrancisco - The barometer 29.95 today.

20: Moderate breeze East to S.E. and South these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours fair weather - Last part of 24 hours light rain showers - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - Steamer Bandorville went into Yaquina at 1:30??? A.M. - Steamer Alcatraz sailed for Sanfrancisco from Yaquina - Mr. Hermann had a load of Household goods from Newport - Keeper and 1st asst went fishing.

21: Moderate breeze South with frequent rain showers during 24 hours - Sea smooth - The barometer down to 29.80 today - 2nd asst painting floors in his Quarters and putting matting and carpets down - Keeper and 1st helping him.

22: Light South to S. East wind first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours fresh breeze East to S. East with frequent rain showers during 24 hours - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - 1st asst went fishing - 2nd asst cleaning and fixing up his Quarters.

23: Light variable winds with frequent rain showers first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours moderate to fresh breeze S. to S. West with frequent light rain showers - Sea rough - General duties for the day - 2nd asst went to Newport to meet his Wife and family this evening. Left the station at 9:30 A.M.

24: Light variable winds these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours little damp - Last part of 24 hours fair weather - Sea moderately smooth - General duties for the day - Received the following order from Commander O.W. Farenholt Inspector 13th Light House District - With the exception of Light-House Keepers no person will be permitted inside the Light House or Watchroom between the hours of sunset and sunrise - The Keeper on watch will give his undivided attention to his duties - Night reliefs of Watches will be made in the watchroom and not outside the tower or at the dwellings of the Keepers - At stations where there are other government or outside employees Keepers while on duty are forbidden to stand watches, reliefs or do any work for remuneration or otherwise for the aforementioned persons - This does not apply to Light House employees sent to the station to effect repairs or alterations. In such cases every Keeper will assist to the best of his ability - During the salmon-fishing season, Light-House Keepers outside their own wants are forbidden to employ themselves in seine trap or net fishing either for favor, gain or traffic??? These orders are signed by all the Keepers, posted in the Watch room and the Keeper has informed the Inspector that they are thoroughly understood and will be obeyed. 2nd asst returned to the station at 4 P.M. with his Wife and Family.

25: Light S. east wind these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours little damp - Last part of 24 hours fair and cooler weather - Sea quite rough - General duties for the day. 2nd asst helping Mrs. Hermann put down carpets and put his Quarters in order. The barometer 30.10 today.

26: Light East wind first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light variable winds with fair and warmer weather. Sea very rough - General duties for day - 1st asst went to Newport - 2nd asst putting down carpet and fixing up his Quarters.
