Keeper putting dressing on his garden. 1st asst spading garden & went fishing. Hoisted American ensign. Barometer 30.07 today.

February 5: "Steamer Yolanta burned at her wharf at Newport at 11.30 P.M.; is a total loss." Might the name actually be Yolanda? Preliminary online search didn't turn up any news articles.
