November 1: Light wind to moderate & fresh breeze South first part of 24 hours with rain. Last part of 24 hours light N. West wind clear and fair weather. Sea smooth. General duties for the day. 2nd Asst went to Newport and working in shope. Barometer 30.12.

2: Light N.W. to East wind damp first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light wind to moderate and fresh breeze South fair weather. Sea quite rough. General duties for the day. 1st Asst showing four visitors in the tower. 2nd Asst working in shope. Barometer down to 29.85.

3: Gale & moderate breeze S. to light variable winds rain first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours fair weather. Sea quite rough. General duties for the day. 2nd Asst working in shop and assisting Keeper clean out furnace pipe. 1st Asst went to Newport. Barometer 29.70 to 29.88.

Entry on Left Margin: On Nov. 17th at 6 A.M. the British Ship Atalanta went ashore about 25 miles south of this station and was a total wreck. There were 27 of the crew. Three saved themselfs and twenty four were lost. She was loaded with wheat and flour. Sailed from Tocoma for Cape Town South Africa.

On Nov. 17th at 6 A.M. the British Ship Atalanta went ashore about 25 miles south of this station and was a total wreck. There were 27 of the crew. Three saved themselfs and twenty four were lost. She was loaded with wheat and flour. Sailed from Tocoma for Cape Town South Africa.
