U.S.L. House Engineer W. C. Langfitt and G. W. Freeman arrived at station at 10 A.M. Inspected and left at 11 A.M. for Newport.

March 1: Light East to N. West wind these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours cloudy but dry. Last part of 24 hours clear fair weather Sea moderately smooth. Barometer 30.10 to 29.90. Mr. Wiltshire repairing halway in rear of assts part of dwelling and taking down chimney in keeper and assts dining rooms. 1st asst went to Newport after mail supplies. Keeper painting door in hallway in dwelling. 2st asst throwing brick over bluff from chimney.

2: Light N.W. to East and S. East these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours clear fine weather. Last part of 24 hours cloudy. Sea smooth. Keeper and 2nd asst prepairing to have the chimney taken out of dwelling. Barometer 29.65 today. Mr. Wiltshire repairing hallway in rear of dwelling on assts side. Also working on the cistern.

3: Fresh and moderate S to S. West these 24 hours. Rain first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light rain showers and fair weather. Sea smooth. Barometer 29.48 to 29.54. 2nd asst went to Newport after mail and supplies. Mr. Wiltshire working on cistern and replacing halway in rear of asst dwelling.

4: Light S.E. to moderate breeze S. West these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours rain showers. Last part of 25 hours cloudy and fair weather- Sea smooth. Barometer 29.48 to 29.56. General duties for the day. Keeper working on requisition for annual supplies for next year.

5: Light S. East wind to moderate and fresh breeze South these 24 hours with frequent rain showers- Sea smooth. Barometer 29.80. Keepers and assts cleaning stairs and landings also scrubbing cement off the marble floor in halway where the pipes were laid for the hot water heater. 1st asst throwing bricks over the bluf that Mr. Wiltshire takes from the chimney on the keepers side of dwelling. 2nd asst painting door on his side of dwelling Mr. Wiltshire making steps at rear of dwelling also tearing chimney out of east side of dwelling.

6: Moderate to fresh breeze S. East to South these 24 hours with rain during 24 hours. Sea quite rough. Barometer 29.8 to 29.55. Keeper and assts cleaning scrubbing oil room and floors. 1st asst throwing bricks over tthe bluff. Keeper and 2nd asst cleaning the grounds in rear of dwelling. Mr. Wiltshire and men repairing drain and steps in rear of dwelling also working on keepers chimney.

7: Fresh breeze to gale South to S. West with rain these 24 hours. Barometer 29.20 to 29.33. Keeper and assts scrubbing and cleaning out watch room and office. Keeper and 1st asst cleaning the grounds on keepers side of dwelling. Mr Wiltshire putting new steps in rear of dwelling. Also ceiling??? side entrance. And lath and plastering space where the chimney was taken out in keepers dwelling. Keeper cleaning out his celler and working on annual requisition for supplies to Inspector.

8: Fresh to moderate breeze S.W. to W. and South these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours rain last part of 24 hours rain showers. Sea rough. Keeper went to Newport after mail and supplies. Barometer 29.30 to 29.94. 1st and 2nd assts cleaning up grounds around dwelling. Mr. Wiltshire and men tearing down chimney in 2nd assts side of dwelling and ceiling??? side entrance.

9: Fresh breeze South these 24 hours day to little damp. Sea quite rough. Keeper working on requisition for supplies to inspector. 2nd asst went to Newport after mail and supplies. Also cleaning up grounds. Keeper and 1st asst throwing brick over the bluff that were taken out of chimneys. Barometer 29.98. Mr. Wiltshire completed repairing side entrance on the keeper and asst. Also tearing down chimney to.

10: Fresh breeze South these 24 hours. first part of 24 hours damp today and fair weather. Last part of 24 hours fair weather to light rain showers and rain. Sea quite rough. Barometer 29.95 Keeper and asst throwing bricks over the bluff and cleaning up the grounds. 1st asst went to Newport after mail and supplies. Keeper completed annual requisition for supples. Mr. Wiltshire working on lattice work in front of water closet. Also lathing and pastering in 2nd asst quarters where the chimney was taken out. Keeper packing gravel up from the beach.
