17 Sea smooth. Barometer 30.17 to 29.86 - Keeper and assts cleaning lenns and lantern & whitewashing in watch room - 1st asst brushing walls inside of tower and went to Newport after mail and supplies - Keeper mixing paint to paint stairs & landing & whitewash to whiten walls.

18 Light wind to moderate and fresh breeze south these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours rain showers and fair - Sea moderately smooth - Barometer 29.86 to 29.96 - Keeper and assts whitewashing walls inside of tower & cleaning stairs & landing.
