Depositions of witnesses produced, sworn and exam-
ined, this 2nd day of July 1847, at the residence of Alex-
ander M. Hanks, Pickens County Alabama under
and by virtue of a commission issued out of the
Chancery Court of the 23d District Middle Division,
State of Alabama, in a certain cause therein depend-
ing, between Hugh Cunningham, plaintiff, and
Daniel Turnipseed defendant.

Alexander M. Hanks, of Pickens County, aged
thirty six years, being duly sworn, answers and
deposes as follows:

I. To the first Interrogatory he says:
Ans.'r I am, and have been for several years past

II To the second he says:
Ans.- I have a slight acquaintance with some of
the negro slaves mentioned in said Interrogatory, but
have not examined them sufficiently to form a definite
opinion of their ages or value. So far as I know, the
negroes are healthy and likely

III. To the third he says:
I have no knowledge of the facts inquired of
in this Interrogatory.
