Joseph Cowsent, of Pickens County, Ala.
aged 51 years, being duly sworn, answers and de-
poses as follows.

I. 1. To the first Interrogatory he says.-
Ans- I am, and have been acquainted with both
of them for several years past.

II. 2. To the second Interrogatory, he says:
Ans. I examined, at the house of the complain-
ant, between three and four weeks ago, negroes of the
same names as those mentioned in said Interroga-
tory, and which I believe to be the same negroes.
The following is a list of the names of said negroes,
and, in my judgement, their ages, at the time of said
valueation, and their respective values for the period
of March, 1843, and June 1847.
