Pickens County} Recd of Daniel Turnipseed
Four Hundred and fifty dollars in full payment for
a negro boy, the name of York, about nineteen years
old, which negro boy I warrant to be sound and
healthy and of sound mind. The titles of said
negro I will warrant and defend from all per-
sons claiming the same unto the said Daniel
Turnipseed his heirs executors administrators and
assigns. In testimony I hereunto set my hand
and affixed my seal this the 22d day of May 1843.

Be it remembered that at a term
of the Chancery Court for the Twenty third dis-
trict. Middle Division of said State, begun and held
at the Court house of the County of Pickens, on the second
Monday after the fourth Monday in June, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
forty seven, being the 12th day of July, present
the Honorable D. G. Sigon, Chancellor, the fol-
lowing proceedings were had, viz:
