At the meeting of the Ard Fheis
that followed on the rising Sceilg who was
now made a Vice-President of the League proposed
a resolution to the effect that there was
nothing in the chequered history of Ireland that
they were so proud of as of the heroes who died in the Rising and this being carried
unanimously should have just an end to the last shred
of pretence that the League was non-political.
But to make matters quite certain the two
Gaelic League organisers, paid for by the general funds of the
League, O hAnnrachain and O Murthuile were employed or employed themselves in
canvasing the constituencies for the Sinn Fein candidates
in Longford, and my friend Sean T spoke out of the
windows of De Valeras committee rooms, thus as General
Secretary of the Gaelic League committing it still further. At
