Friday 13th October 1854. Board of Aldermen met persuant to call of his Honor the Mayor.

Present his Honor Mayor A.A. Nelson, Aldermen H.H. Edwards, Jesse Muckleroy, John Forbes, Treasurer, & C Raguet Secty [secretary].

Board called to order. The following report of Aldermen A. Clark, on tax land, was received, read, amended, and adopted.

To the Mayor & Aldermen of the Corporation of the city of Nacogdoches. The undersigned to upon was seperated the subject in relation to the [illegible] system.

Resolved that the report of the Street Committee recommending the allowance and payment of seventy bills and accounts therein specified be received and that the Mayor is authorized to [?] on the Treasurer in favor of the respective parties for the account due each [?] in the apregate to the sum of ninety four dollars, 12 cents.

Nacogdoches Lodge D. S. & D of S Regular Meeting Dec 26, 1833 Lodge was called to order by W. C. [Bro] Lodge was called to order by W. C. Bro (page cut off) Will Clark Bro. W. J. Heyde __ W. V. The minutes of last meeting were read and approved

On motion the fines [illegible] entered against sister Elizabeth Heubert for absence as W.P.D. was accuitted [acquitted] for good causes [illegible]

The committee to where was [illegible] the application of Laura J Sterne made at our last meeting. Reported favorably [illegible] where upon the applicant was balloted for and elected to become a member of our order.

On motion the special committee to whom was refund the report of the J. S. for last quarter. Financial Books to have further time to make their report.

On motion Bro Cicno Rusk has further time to resign.

On motion, the following resolution was adopted. Resolved that the Treasurer of this Lodge is hereby authorized to loan to the order of Sons of Temperance Division N° 3. Fifty dollars of the money now in this hands. belonging to this Lodge. to be repaid by the first day of January U.D. 1857 without intent.

On motion Bro. Hanock (Scay Pro Lur) was authorized to purchase a Black Book in which to accord minutes of the proceedings of this Lodge.

The financial [receipts] for week ending on the 19th [of] June not mentioned in the proceedings of last meeting account to $580. [Ricuts] since last meeting $6.75.

No further business appearing the Lodge closed to regular and due from,

H.C. Hancock Scay Pro Lur.

Regular meeting [Janurary] 9th, 1856. Lodge called to order by W.C., Bro. Will Clark, Bro. John Riley, W. V., P. Leue Sis. Mary Lewis, D of F " " Bro. J. Voigt C. " " Sis Rich " Lours D. of C. " " Bro. W. H. Heamil J. S. " " " H. C. Hancock Scay " " [writing erased] Lodge opened for business in due form.

Minutes of last meeting read and approved.

On motion, the regular order of business was suspended for the evening. And also the rule requiring petitions for membership to lay over one week.

An application from [Miss.] Sue Buford to [become] a [cut off] of our order was their [received], read and refered to a Committee consisting of Sis. E. H. E Barret, Rick (page cut off) laws and. with instructions to report fortwith;

The Committee there made their report, which being favorable the candidate was ballotted for and elected to [receive] the benefits of the order of Good Samaritians, and [daughters] of [Samaritians]. Miss. Laura F. Stern and Miss Sue Buford. were there accounted as candidates inwaiting and we regularly [illegible].

Sister Mary Barret was reported sick.

Bro. H S. Herolaud went into the [lodge]. His Committee acknowledgement of having violated his pledge, on motion it was Resolved that the punishment to be in flicted upon Bro. Herolaud for [illegible][illegible]be that he come into open lodge or our [illegible] meeting and reasign the pledge

Bro Christopher Grogaard also acknowledged that he had violated his pledge on motion the cases resolved. That Bro Grogaard be required to re-sign the pledge. Think he [illegible] did in open lodge.

The committee (special) appointed to [illegible] and [illegible] the report and Books of the Jr. Son made a upon which report was received and committee discharged.

On motion Bro Leicens Rusk by further time to re-sign the pledge.

Sister Mary J Lewis presented her resignation to the order. Which on motion was accepted.

Bro James [illegible] [illegible] presided his resgnation to the order. Which no motion was laid over for one week.

Bro Le Grogaard asked to take the degrees.

Lodge met pursuant fo ad [ereased ] -permanent* & on being called to order by the W.H. the mem-bers clothed themselves in their proper regalia.

Bro Jno Reily was appointed Seciy Pro Law Bro W. F. Otyde conductor. E. W. have Part W. H. + " Mr. Edaard P. Leurs The minutes were then read and adopted. All acts wereagrement from Bro P. R. the[page cut off] n was then lead and after some debated it was ordered that he come at next meeting & renew his membership by resigning the pledge.

The attention of the lodge was then called to the procuring the box ad -apohend of before, when -upon Bro H. and was ap-[page cut off]

procuring committee. A motion was then made by Bro Lane. " That the lodge do not go into any further action concerning Bros Mulaud and Rusk and what if if defer is until next meeting" Which was carried.

A bill was then read from W.L. Bozsun and referred to Finance Committee. A Communication from a Commitee of the "Sons of Temperance" as the "L.S.S. and H of S" to [leave] them the sum of seventy-five dollars to save as an equivalent the [?] of the Lodge room which was after much debate carried with the consideration that 1/2 the expense of the house be paid by each Lodge.

A motion to regulate the punishment for violating the pledge was permiated if be over.

Ceske Lodge was consumed. The fraud macher and afficery then taking their respective punishment Lishers Braford and Sherne and Bro. Gerard was then initiated into the 1st and 2nd degrees in a vey impressive manner.

and after being corrected were approved.

Brothers J.R. [?] came forward and resigned the Pledge according to the requirements of last meeting.

Brother Hancock entered the Lodge.

On motion, the regular business was dispensed with and proceeded to reading of petitions and initiating of Candidates.

A petition of John H. Boykin for memberships was read and referred to Brothers [illegible] Hyde and Gerard.

A petition of U.J. Simpson was read and referred to Brother Holmes and Hyde with the requests to report [?]. Said Committee reported favorable on said petition after which the candidates was ballotted for and declared duly elected.

On motion, the rule for petition to lay over one week was dispensed with Brothers Hayden and Arnold entered the Lodge.

Mr. U.J. Simpson was introduced and duly initiated a member of our order.

All other business for the evening dispensed with the Lodge closed and form. [cut off]

Lodge Room.

May 30th, 1856. This being the regular night for meeting and the hour for [illegible] having arrived and them being no [?] present to do business. Bro. P. H , Ol' [?] took the chair of the W.C. and called to order. Bro J. Le. Muckleroy acting as W.V. and [?] and Bro. H.H. [Hancock] acting as R.S.

On motion, it was resolved that this Lodge adjourned until tomorrow night at the usual form meeting.

[Janurary] 31st, 1836. Lodge called to order by N.C. W Clark. Sis. J. Hubert, W.P. D. Bro. H. H Hancock, W.S. and R.S. Pro. Leur. Sis R. Jones, D of R. [illegible] W.J.S. Bro. E.L. Holund, W. " P" H. Graggard, W.C. Lss. [?] Stern, D.C. P.R. Stern, J.S. and C.S. Lodge open for business in due form.

The minutes of last regular meeting discharged [illegible] consideration of the petition of L.H. Boykin and [?] Hamil and Stern appeared in their stead.
