September 25, 1851 - October 13, 1851

1851 Sept 25th very cool this morning we
are stacking Our Tops cut over our Tobacco
& got near 1400 Sticks in all 245 fresh ground
in new ground 846 in lotts by prize barn 291 in all 1382

26th Stacked Our tops yesterday & finished
worming & succoring Tobacco this morning making
Hog pen for mountain Grazier —
after the Dew gets off then we shall
cut Tobacco again – fair & Clear
sent Jacob to Faris’s mill 1 Bus wheat
for flour & get the articles he brot from for meLynchg

30 cutting & firing Tobacco Tobacco yesterday
& to day – fair & warm

Oct 5th The weather the Past week has been
fair & mild we have Housed all our Tobacco
cut except the mountain field pulled &
shucked Out Our Lot Corn by Granary &
mountain field made nearly or about 12 Bbls
while we were measuring up Corn friday
Our Tops Stack fell down & we had to
stack that again picked up flax yesterday
Pompey Hurt Pink yesterday morning
I don't Know whether he broke her leg or not
meeting at Strait Stone yesterday taking
some steps to put a stop if Possible to
the Villany going on in this pt of the Country

Oct. 9th Began to sew wheat here yesterday at
mountain field sewed Rye at Granary Lot & also
the wheat there yesterday & to day Cut Buck
wheat firing prize Barn & new Barn in Lot
Expect to Begin to cut all Our Tobacco to day
Began to Sew wheat at Mrs McCullocks Tuesday

7th Oct Cutting down there Corn Clear & fair

10 Cutting Tobacco in Lots etc Henry Bushing
mountain field Fed gone to mill 2 Bus
wheat to eat 2 Bus for flour & 2 Bus. Corn & 1½ Bus
for overseer & 1 peck for Lila cloudy this morning

11th we have got from the mill all but our
corn meal finished cutting & stacking Tobacco this day

13th Halled first cutting out of new ground Barn
710 sticks to prize Barn
